ABOUT 2 MAC'S RANCH
Welcome! We are a small Veteran owned Regenerative ranch in Winnsboro Texas. We want whatever we do to be the most beneficial way possible. We rotationally graze our cattle and sheep with daily moves to fresh grass, supplementing with high quality hay and alfalfa in winter, as well as free choice minerals for the healthiest cattle and to benefit our soil. We offer natural alternatives for their health like antibacterial herbs and natural dewormers like Pumpkins, and never give our animals hormones.
Our chickens, both for meat and eggs, are raised out on pasture in mobile coops that we move daily for fresh forage, but to protect from predators. They get all the benefits of living outside, which greatly increases the vitamins, mineral and Omega 3 fatty acid profile when compared to conventionally raised meats.

OUR STORY
Hello! Welcome to 2 Mac's Ranch. We are childhood friends that have lived all over the world. We came back together after over 2 decades living different lives and have found a common passion in raising our own healthy food, sustainably and humanely.
We first dabbled in farm life in a small Adobe home on 3 1/2 acres up in the ski areas of Northern New Mexico, raising hair sheep, an Angus steer and 21 egg laying chickens. We also grew an abundance of fresh produce in our 12 x 40 Hoop house green house.
Jim's job as a flight nurse took us to several other states, and away from farming. It was not long before we decided we missed farm living and moved here to beautiful North East Texas, partly to be closer to family, but mostly because we love Texas.
Heather had lived in West Texas for over 10 years before we were married, and it wasn't hard to decide to move back, but we chose to move to the more lush, green Piney Woods region to better fit the type of farming we had decided to embark on.
We are fulfilling our dream, seeing the fruits of our labor as we continue to expand and add more livestock and growing opportunities here. Now we want to share our abundance with our community and beyond.

Here at 2 Mac's Ranch, we offer our Grass-fed and Grass-finished beef and lamb, as well as pasture raised chicken, pork and eggs. Our Murray Grey cattle are known for their high tenderness genetics, similar to Wagyu, raised on grass alone. Our St. Croix/Katahdin sheep are very hardy, naturally worm resistant and bred specifically for the best tasting lamb.

We also offer some seasonal produce, plants, jams, pickles and bakery items, like our delicious Dewberry Jam, Soft Sourdough Sandwich bread and Sourdough Focaccia bread made with our own sourdough starter, as well as Heather's Bakery style Streusel topped Muffins when available.
